The Institut Clinique de la Souris (ICS) is a purpose build institute [of ~4500 m2 and employing ~ 120 scientists/technicians], that is exclusively devoted to high-throughput mouse functional genomics. The ICS uses a targeted mutagenesis strategy combined with an in-depth high throughput phenotypic analysis of the resulting mouse lines, as its approach to mammalian functional genomics. The ICS is implementing an accessible mouse phenomics database, termed MouseTrap® enabling the easy storage, retrieval, and analysis of data related to mouse mutants and their phenotype. Due to its focus on mouse functional genomics, the ICS was/is a prime participant in the following EU programs: European Union Mouse Research for Public Health and Industrial Applications (Eumorphia); Priorities in mouse research for Europe (PRIME); European Conditional Mouse Mutagenesis project (EUCOMM); and European Mouse Disease Clinics (EUMODIC). The ICS is also one of the French nodes of the European Mouse Mutant Archive (EMMA).
