Madrid Science Park (PCM), was established as a non profit foundation in 2001 by Autónoma and Complutense Universities of Madrid as its founding members, with the support of the Madrid Regional Government for bridging the gap between the scientific and the business communities in our region and for contributing to its technological and economic growth. Other research institutions have joined PCM´s Board of Trustees: CSIC (National Scientific Research Council), CIEMAT (Energy, Environment and Technology Research Centre), private Banking Group Santander, the Madrid Chamber Of Commerce are Trustees, Genetrix Group and Madrid City hall. At this time PCM offers world class scientific research infrastructures and technological business development services in the areas of Biotechnology, Biomedicine, Information and Telecom Technologies, Knowledge Management, Materials Science and Nanotechnology. Its main platforms include: SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH SERVICES: Genomics Unit (DNA Sec, real time PCR, DNA Micro arraying), Proteomics Unit (MALDI-TOF-TOF, HPLC-Q-TOF, Ion Trap), Bio computing and LIMS Network, Industrial Biotransformations Unit, Molecular Interaction Unit and Materials and Surface Microanalysis (UAM 5Mev Linear Ion Accelerator); and BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT SERVICES: Scientist-Entrepreneur Support Centre, Spin-off Development , Business Incubators and Bioincubator , Technology Transfer Networks (IRC), Innovation and Technology Watch (CIBT) and Knowledge Society Research Centre (CIC).
