The Hellenic Republic Ministry of Development aims to the development of policy for the energy sector and exploitation of mineral resources, for scientific research and technology and taking measures for the implementation of this policy as well as supervision of all bodies concerned with energy and minerals in Greece. The General Secretariat for Research and Technology of the Ministry of Development aims to support through its programmes, the research activities of both the country's scientific research institutes and those of its productive industry, focussing on areas that are important for the national economy and for the improvement of the quality of life as well as to promote the transfer and dissemination of advanced technologies throughout the country's productive sector, thus ensuring early utilisation of the results of research activity.
