The General Directorate for Heath Research of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Policies (Health Sector) –-has the responsibility of health research in the National Health Service of the Italian Government. Its main competences are: Planning and implementation of research and technology development policies, boosting technology innovation, promotion of researchers training in the National Health Service, in collaboration with universities and research centres. The “General Directorate for Heath Research of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Policies (Health Sector)” manage at National Level for the Research Activities in the Health Sector the 0,5.% of the National GDP (this budget is a part of the Budget of the National Health Service).
