INFRACoMP
InfraCoMP objectives
InfraCoMP's main objective is to coordinate collaboration between the INFRAFRONTIER Research Infrastructure and the International Mouse Phenotyping Consortium (IMPC). To this end, InfraCoMP organises regular workshops that address the central issues that need to be resolved to ensure a fruitful cooperation between the two initiatives, that minimises redundancy, maximises mutual benefit and leverages the expertise and infrastructure capacity.

InfraCoMP Kick-Off Meeting
InfraCoMP was launched in November 2011, in Munich, Germany attracting international attention in a Kick-Off meeting, with over 80 participants, representing 14 nations from 4 continents.
InfraCoMP Workshop on IMPC Embryonic Lethal Phenotyping
April 2012, London, UK - 'InfraCoMP Workshop on IMPC Embryonic Lethal Screening', with the objective of agreeing in a consensus strategy for embryonic phenotyping.

INFRAFRONTIER / IMPC Korea Meeting
September 2012, Jeju, Korea - 'INFRAFRONTIER IMPC Korea meeting' with the objective of showcasing Asia's important position in the global effort to functionally annotate the entire mammalian genome and provide information on the activities of mouse phenotyping in Asia and its integration with both INFRAFRONTIER and IMPC efforts.

INFRAFRONTIER / IMPC / IKMC Rome Meeting
December 2013, Rome, Italy - 'INFRAFRONTIER, IMPC & IKMC meeting', with the objective to discuss how researchers from different scientific fields and from industry can benefit from the large-scale mouse genomics initiatives INFRAFRONTIER, the IMPC and the IKMC, and to obtain feedback from the research community on future needs and improvements. The meeting counted with the participation of more than 200 participants, from all over the world.
The meeting was funded through the EC-funded projects InfraCoMP and EUCOMTOOLS, the Italian National Research Council (CNR) generously provided the meeting venue.
INFRAFRONTIER / IMPC San Francisco Phenotyping Workshop
March 2014, San Francisco, USA - 'INFRAFRONTIER IMPC Phenotyping Workshop', with the objective of accessing the progress of the tests and phenotype detection, as well as to discuss the tests implementation for IMPC Phase II.
INFRAFRONTIER / IMPC Mouse Repository Workshop
May 2014, Munich, Germany - 'INFRAFRONTIER / IMPC Workshop - Promoting the international exchange of mouse mutant resources', whose main objective was to simplify the international exchange of mouse mutant resources and to define the procedural changes required to achieve this goal.
The workshop was targeted at the directors of major mouse repositories, IP and technology transfer experts, representatives of scientific journals and funders and was attended by 70 participants.

INFRAFRONTIER/IMPC Workshop: Promoting the international exchange of mouse mutant resources, Munich, Germany, May 2014
INFRAFRONTIER / IMPC Statistical Technical Group Meeting
July, 2014, Cambridge, UK – The INFRAFRONTIER / IMPC Statistical Technical Group meeting highlighted the importance of statistical analysis to accurately functionally annotate the entire mammalian genome and provided information on current knowledge. The resulting discussions helped shaping the active research into the data analysis issues surrounding high throughput mouse phenotyping.
The meeting counted with the presence of more than 20 participants representing 14 institutes from diverse fields such as statistics, bio-informatics, informatics and biology. Through several presentations and multiple breakout group discussions the INFRAFRONTIER / IMPC Statistical Technical Group Meeting provided a unique opportunity to share knowledge and discuss the issues and potential solutions for the large-scale analysis of data from high throughput phenotyping
The results of the workshops are documented in meeting reports and are publicised by different communications means. InfraCoMP will address the specific requirements of an international collaboration of INFRAFRONTIER and IMPC. A successful collaboration between INFRAFRONTIER and the IMPC, catalysed by InfraCoMP, will move forward the entire research field of mouse models for human diseases.
