Genetic informationHomologous recombination in mouse embryonic stem cells was performed to place loxP sites around exons 8 and 9 of the Tmprss4 gene locus containing the histidine and the aspartate of the catalytic triad. Southern blot analyses confirmed correct targeting of ES cell. Tmprss4loxneo/+ mice were mated with Cre- or Flp-deleter mouse strains, and floxed heterozygous mutant and knockout mice were obtained.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Tmprss4 knockout mice do not show an obvious phenotype and are viable and fertile.

Heterozygous:
Tmprss4 heterozygous mice do not show an obvious phenotype and are viable and fertile.
Breeding historyThe line was maintained by crossing Tmprss4 +/- with Tmprss4 +/-.
