Genetic informationThe E401K mouse line recapitulates a mutation found in a patient who presented with severe microcephaly. The mutation is located on exon 4 of the Tubb5 gene.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
When employing nestin promoter-driven cre recombinase, homozygous animals are presented with a large reduction in total brain as well as cortical volume.

Heterozygous:
When employing nestin promoter-driven cre recombinase, heterozygous animals show no significant brain size reduction.
