Provider affiliationKarolinska Institutet
Genetic informationA cassette encoding NLS-cre recombinase (cre) followed by an FRT-flanked neomycin cassette was inserted upstream of the translation start codon in exon 2 of the mouse dopamine transporter gene (Dat). The neo cassette has been removed by breeding the original mouse line to FLPe deleter mice. The generation of this mutant has been described in Ekstrand et al., 2007. MitoPark mice can be generated by crossing this line (EM:13209, Dat-cre) to the Tfam loxP line (EM:13208). See Ekstrand et al., 2007 for further details.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Viable and fertile

Heterozygous:
Viable and fertile
Breeding historyMales used for sperm freezing are on C57BL/6N background (at least 10 generations of backcrossing).

Order

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen sperm. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Rederivation of mice from frozen stock, delivery time available upon request . €3880*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
