Information from provider

ProviderUrsula Günthert
Provider affiliationInstitut für Pathologie, University of Basel
Genetic informationThe KitW (KIT proto-oncogene; dominant spotting) allele, is a spontaneous mutation in the Kit (Cd117) gene which involves a G to A nucleotide exchange affecting the splice donor site of intron 10. This causes skipping of exon 10, the exon encoding the transmembrane domain, resulting in a protein that can not be expressed on the cell surface.
Phenotypic informationCd117-/-: Macrocytic anaemia, reduced red blood cells number with increased volume. Homozygous mice die at day 10 after birth.
Breeding history10 generations backcrossed onto C57BL/6Rcc; currently bred as C57BL/6Rcc Cd117 +/-.

Order

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen embryos. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Rederivation of mice from frozen stock, delivery time available upon request . €3880*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
