EMMA ID | EM:02024 |
International strain name | D1.129-Cd44tm1.1Ugu/Orl |
Alternative name | DBA/1 CD44v6v7-/- |
Strain type | Targeted Mutant Strains : Knock-out |
Allele/Transgene symbol | Cd44tm1.1Ugu, |
Gene/Transgene symbol | Cd44 |
Information from provider
Provider | Ursula Günthert |
Provider affiliation | Institut für Pathologie, University of Basel |
Genetic information | A loxP site was inserted 3' of exon v6 and a neomycin resistance cassette, with a 5' loxP site, was inserted 5' of exon v6 of the Cd44 gene. During insertion, 1.6 kb of sequence was lost in the exon v7 region; cre recombinase was transiently expressed in ES cells allowing the removal of neomycin cassette and exon v6. Mice lack both exon v6 and v7. |
Phenotypic information | Cd44v6v7-/-: Strongly reduced symptoms in autoimmune diseases. |
Breeding history | The DBA/1 Cd44v6v7-/- strain was backcrossed for 10 generations onto the DBA/1 background and is kept as DBA/1 CD44v6v7-/-. |
