Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Tcl1-/- mice have a modest impairment in the development and function of the immune system. Maternally derived Tcl1 is essential to early mouse embryo development, thus Tcl1-/- females show fertility defects, while Tcl1-/- males do not. Tcl1-/- adult mice (independently from sex) exhibit hair loss, leading to alopecia with extensive skin lesions.

Heterozygous:
Both males and females Tcl1+/- mice do not present any discernable defect.
Breeding historyThe F1 animals were intercrossed for at least 20 generations.
