Research Resource Identifiers (RRID) are persistent unique ID numbers assigned to help researchers cite key resources (e.g. antibodies, model organisms and software projects) in the biomedical literature to improve transparency and reproducibility in research. See https://www.rrids.org/ for more information.

Information from provider

ProviderPascale Plence
Provider affiliationINSERM U1183
Genetic informationcDNA encoding enhanced green fluorescent protein (EGFP) was adjoined to the chicken beta actin promoter and cytomegalovirus enhancer. A bovine globin polyadenylation signal was also included in the construct. Submitted mouse strain was obtained by backcrossing strain C57BL/6-Tg(CAG-EGFP)1Osb/J, obtained by the Jackson Laboratory (003291), for 23 generations on DBA/1 background (SNP analysis found 99.17% homology with DBA/1OlaHsd used in the backcrosses).
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Homozygous mice are not viable.

Heterozygous:
This strain was maintained by mating a hemizygous carrier with a DBA/1 mouse. This transgenic mouse line, with an "enhanced" GFP (EGFP) cDNA under the control of a chicken beta-actin promoter and cytomegalovirus enhancer, have widespread EGFP fluorescence, with the exception of erythrocytes and hair.
Breeding history23 backcrosses on DBA/1 background

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen sperm. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Rederivation of mice from frozen stock, delivery time available upon request . €3880*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
