Research Resource Identifiers (RRID) are persistent unique ID numbers assigned to help researchers cite key resources (e.g. antibodies, model organisms and software projects) in the biomedical literature to improve transparency and reproducibility in research. See https://www.rrids.org/ for more information.

Genetic informationThis is a mouse conditional mutant line targeting the Pcbp4 gene. The gene is located on chromosome 9 and extends on ca. 10 Kb. The gene is composed of 13 exons. The cDNA contains 1984 nucleotides. The open reading frame encodes for a 403 amino acid polypeptide. The translation initiation site is located in exon 2 and the stop codon in exon 13. A conditional gene targeting strategy (“Safe knock-out” approach from GenOway) was used to flank exons 2 to 12 (containing the three KH functional domains of the PCBP4 protein) by two loxP sites. Targeted GenOway 129/SvPas ES clones were generated and injected into C57BL/6 blastocysts.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Viable. No observed phenotypic variations.

Heterozygous:

Breeding historyThe line has been maintained by intercrossing C57BL/6 homozygous mice.

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen sperm. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Rederivation of mice from frozen stock, delivery time available upon request . €3880*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
