| Genetic information | Constitutive Loxl2 knock-out. A conditional knock-out mutation of Loxl2 based on cre recombinase/loxP system was introduced by homologous recombination in the endogenous locus of Loxl2. |
| Phenotypic information | Homozygous:Partial perinatal lethality due to cardiac and liver defects. Knock-out mice develop a lower number of skin tumors after being subjected to DMBA/TPA (dimethylbenz-anthracene and 12-O-tetradecanoyl phorbol-13-acetate) treatment.Heterozygous:Completely normal |
| Breeding history | ES cell clones positive for the mutation were microinjected/aggregated into receptive blastocysts/morulas and chimeras were obtained. These animals were crossed with cre recombinase-positive mice in order to check germline transmission and, at the same time, obtain animals harbouring a constitutive knock-out allele. The resultant heterozygous animals were intercrossed and knock-out animals were obtained. |
