Genetic informationInsertional mutagenesis in a transgenic line carrying a 8 kb plasmid phbAPr-1neo, which includes a portion of the human beta actin promoter, leading to a 648 kb deletion on distal Chr7, resulting in the loss of three protein coding genes (Gpr26, Cpmx2 and Chst15).

Breeding historyMice carrying the headbobber mutation were originally obtained from Dr. Paul Overbeek at the Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas. Details of the genetic background are unknown, but the mutants were maintained within a closed colony over several years.
