Research Resource Identifiers (RRID) are persistent unique ID numbers assigned to help researchers cite key resources (e.g. antibodies, model organisms and software projects) in the biomedical literature to improve transparency and reproducibility in research. See https://www.rrids.org/ for more information.

Information from provider

ProviderKari Alitalo
Provider affiliationHelsinki University
Genetic informationMice that express the mouse VEGF-B gene downstream of the adipocyte protein 2 promoter
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
It has not been tested as mice have always been maintained as heterozygous.

Heterozygous:
The mice display massive cardiac hypertrophy at adult stage. The observed cardiac hypertrophy is established around postnatal day 7 (P7). The pups are not born in mendelian ratio, where most of the transgenic pups die at birth. Inspection of these dead P0 pups revealed cardiac septal defects of varying severity.
Breeding historyMice have been maintained in C57BL/6JRj (Janvier) background as heterozygous for the transgene.
