Research Resource Identifiers (RRID) are persistent unique ID numbers assigned to help researchers cite key resources (e.g. antibodies, model organisms and software projects) in the biomedical literature to improve transparency and reproducibility in research. See https://www.rrids.org/ for more information.

Information from provider

Provider MRC, Medical Research Council
Provider affiliationMary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell
Genetic informationRKS is an ENU derived mutant exhibiting perturbations of the left-right axis and carried a point mutation in Pkd1l1. A SNP based whole genome scan narrowed down the region of interest in RKS to a 14 Mega bases on Chromosome 11. This line will be used to carry out a complementation test with RKS. This BAC trangenic contains the Pkd1l1 locus, mutated in rks and will allow genetic rescue.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Homozygous mice display left-right abnormalities including pulmonary isomerism, stomach situs and gross cardiac situs.

Heterozygous:
Indistiguishable from wild-type littermates
Breeding historyOriginal mutant (CBMLC/81.2e male) was the offspring of a C57BL/6J male that received ENU mated to a C3H/HeH female.
