Research Resource Identifiers (RRID) are persistent unique ID numbers assigned to help researchers cite key resources (e.g. antibodies, model organisms and software projects) in the biomedical literature to improve transparency and reproducibility in research. See https://www.rrids.org/ for more information.

Genetic informationThe 9.0 kb promoter of tyrosine hydroxylase (pTH) gene was used to direct the expression of rat glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) into catecholaminergic regions. Rat G6PD coding sequence was cloned by RT-PCR using 2FG6PD as forward primer: 5'-TGGCAGCGGCAACTAAAT-3' and 1654R as reverse primer: 5'-TAGAGGGTTAGATGGTGA-3'. A 11.5 kb HindIII/NotI fragment, containing the pTH plus the G6PD coding sequence flanked by the beta-globin intron II and a poly A signal was cut from pcDNA3-TH/G6PD plasmid and used for injection into fertilized C57BL/6 eggs to generate pTH-G6PD transgenic founder animals. Multiple copies of G6pd were inserted in the pTH-G6PD (5BB) mouse genome.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
pTH-G6PD homozygous mice do not exhibit any phenotype.

Heterozygous:
pTH-G6PD heterozygous mice do not exhibit any phenotype.
Breeding historyThe pTH-G6PD mice in C57BL/6 background have been maintained either as homozygotes by intercrossing or heterozygotes by crossing with C57BL/6 wild-type mice.
