| Genetic information | This IGFN1(D1-D3) transgenic strain was designed to over-express a fragment of a large protein of unknown function (IGFN1), which exists in many different variants. IGFN1 was identified as an interacting partner to the KY protein, which is associated with a muscular dystrophy. The transgene contains only the first three domains of this protein fused to the fluorescent reporter GFP. It is expressed only in skeletal muscle. The purpose of this line was to test the effect of the overexpression and, on the other hand, cross it to the neuromuscular mutant ky and study possible genetic interactions. |
