| Genetic information | For the ubiquitous overexpression of human AVEN its cDNA sequence was cloned into the pCAGGS vector. This vector was provided by H. Niwa, RIKEN Center for Dev. Biology, Kobe, Japan, and contains a chicken beta-actin promoter, a HCMV enhancer and a polyadenylation signal, provided by the rabbit beta-globin sequence. Mice significantly overexpress AVEN only in the heart. |
| Phenotypic information | The mice appear normal. So far, they have been kept only as heterozygotes, which breed perfectly normal. Analysis of mutant mice is still ongoing. |
| Breeding history | Backcrossed into C57BL/6 for 4 generations. |
