Genetic informationTransgenic mice carrying 1 copy of the 250 kb YAC YRT2deltaLCR derived from YAC YRT2 after removing the LCR element by homologous recombination of YRT2 YAC (Montoliu et al. 1996; EMBO J 15:6026-34). Mice were generated in the albino outbred CD1 background by ICSI-mediated metaphase II oocytes transgenesis, whose albino phenotype was partially rescued by the YAC YRT2deltaLCR transgene, thereby becoming very lightly pigmented (almost albino coat colour) with obvious eye pigmentation. The YAC YRT2deltaLCR is derived from a YAC library made from C3H mouse genomic DNA. The founder mouse (in CD1 mouse background) was backcrossed to albino outbred NMRI (more than 10 generations) and has been maintained in NMRI background since then.
Phenotypic informationVery light coat colour, almost albino, black eyes. Transgenic mice YRT2deltaLCR in the NMRI background have pigmented eyes and very light skin pigmentation (almost albino).
Breeding historyTransgenic mice YRT2deltaLCR were generated by ICSI-mediated metaphase II oocyte transgenesis in CD1 outbred albino mice. The founder mouse was backcrosses to NMRI for more than 10 generations and have been maintained as hemizygous since then in the same albino outbred NMRI background.

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen embryos. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Frozen sperm. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Rederivation of mice from frozen stock, delivery time available upon request . €3880*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
