Research Resource Identifiers (RRID) are persistent unique ID numbers assigned to help researchers cite key resources (e.g. antibodies, model organisms and software projects) in the biomedical literature to improve transparency and reproducibility in research. See https://www.rrids.org/ for more information.

Information from provider

Providerclotilde thery
Provider affiliationINSERM U932, Institut Curie
Additional ownerthe original ES cells were given by W. Skarnes and K. Mitchell, who distributed this cell line, and similar others, through a consortium for free distribution to academic research: now International Gene trap (ITGC) consortium so there should not beany "property" of this mouse line
Genetic informationInsertion of the genetrap vector pGT1.8TM (containing beta-galactosidase-neomycin resistance genes) downstream of the 7th intron of Mfge8 gene.
Phenotypic informationFunctionally knock-out for Mfge8. Expression of beta-galactosidase and neomycin resistance under the control of the Mfge8 promoter.
Breeding historyThe original mice obtained from 129/Ola gene-trapped ES cells were backcrossed 9 times to C57BL/6

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen embryos. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Rederivation of mice from frozen stock, delivery time available upon request . €3880*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
