Research Resource Identifiers (RRID) are persistent unique ID numbers assigned to help researchers cite key resources (e.g. antibodies, model organisms and software projects) in the biomedical literature to improve transparency and reproducibility in research. See https://www.rrids.org/ for more information.

Information from provider

ProviderPeter Griffiths
Provider affiliationDepartment of Pathology and Host Susceptibility, Animal Health and Veterinary Laboratories Agency (AHVLA)
Genetic informationA ~12 kb transgene, comprised of chimaeric DNA sequence encoding a sheep PrP (ARR allele) coding region and mouse PrP gene promoter and 3'-UTR, was used to microinject pronuclear stage FVB/N fertilised oocytes.
Phenotypic informationOverexpression of transgenic ovine PrPC in brain and other tissues in order to confer increased susceptibility to TSE diseases compared to wild-type mice.
Breeding historyBred to 9 generations by crossing with PrP null (Zurich I) mice. Maintained as a transgene heterozygous line.
ReferencesNone available
Homozygous fertilenot known
Homozygous viablenot known
Homozygous matings requiredno
