| Alternative name | MFGE8/TMbetageo FVB |
| Strain type | Gene-trap |
| Allele/Transgene symbol | Mfge8Gt(KST227)Byg |
| Gene/Transgene symbol | Mfge8 |
Information from provider
| Provider | clotilde thery |
| Provider affiliation | INSERM U932, Institut Curie |
| Genetic information | Insertion of the genetrap vector pGT1.8TM (containing beta-galactosidase and neomycin resistance genes) downstream the 7th intron of Mfge8 gene. |
| Phenotypic information | Functionally knock-out for Mfge8. Expression of beta-galactosidase and neomycin resistance under the control of the Mfge8 promoter. |
| Breeding history | Original mice obtained from 129/Ola gene-trapped ES cells were backcrossed 8 times to C57BL/6 background. Resulting colony was used to generate this mouse line, by performing 10 backcrosses to FVB/N background. No functional studies have been performed on any homozygous animals in the FVB pure genetic background: reported data are only inferred from the phenotypes in C57BL/6 mice. |
