| Phenotypic information | Mutant mice deficient in CD3 antigen zeta/eta (Cd247) gene, obtained by mutation of the gene by homologous recombination (insertion of the neomycin-resistance gene into the second exon) in ES cells from a C57BL/6 line. The homozygous mutant animals have a profound reduction in the surface levels of T cell receptor (TCR) complexes into thymocyte populations. The products of the CD3-zeta/eta gene appear to be needed for the survival of CD4+CD8+ thymocytes. |
| Breeding history | Bruce 4 ES cells. Chimaeras crossed with C57BL/6L; one cross with B10.BR then H2b selection and intercross. |
