| Genetic information | This allele was derived from Enpp2tm1Vart, in which a neomycin selection cassette was inserted upstream of exon 1, and the neo cassette and exons 1 and 2 were flanked by loxP sites. Both exons and the selection cassette were then excised ubiquitously by CMV-cre-mediated recombination to generate the full knock-out allele. Heterozygous full KO mice are healthy and fertile. Homozygous full KO embryos die at E9.5 due to aberrant circulation and failure of neural tube closure. The absence of protein expression in homozygous full KO embryos was confirmed by immunohistochemistry. |
