| Genetic information | The construct consist of a promoter fragment of the Tagln (SM22-alpha) murine gene, covering the region -2126 to +65 relative to the transcriptional start, and an E.coli lacZ reporter gene with a nuclear localization signal. The expression pattern is restricted to embryonic heart, myotomes and arterial smooth muscles. In the adult, expression is restricted to arterial smooth muscle cells and to some cardiomyocytes of the left ventricle. |
| Breeding history | Founders (born in 1994) were bred with C57BL/6. |
