Research Resource Identifiers (RRID) are persistent unique ID numbers assigned to help researchers cite key resources (e.g. antibodies, model organisms and software projects) in the biomedical literature to improve transparency and reproducibility in research. See https://www.rrids.org/ for more information.

Information from provider

ProviderJan Deussing
Provider affiliationMolecular Neurogenetics, Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry
Genetic informationA neomycin resistance cassette replaced a 3.1 kb genomic fragment containing sequences encoding transmembrane domains 4-7, including the G-coupling protein domain and the intracellular cytoplasmic tail.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous mutant mice show a chronic corticosterone deficit due to impaired basal and stress-induced activity of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA). Moreover, homozygous mutant mice show reduced anxiety-related behaviour. Homozygous mutant mice show reduced viability (up to 90% die after weaning in mice backcrossed to C57BL/6N background). Pups can survive if the mother is not homozygous for the mutation and can pass on enough corticosteroids to the pups. Homozygotes that survive after weaning are fertile.
Breeding historyCurrently backcrossed to C57BL/6N (N=4).

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen sperm. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
