Research Resource Identifiers (RRID) are persistent unique ID numbers assigned to help researchers cite key resources (e.g. antibodies, model organisms and software projects) in the biomedical literature to improve transparency and reproducibility in research. See https://www.rrids.org/ for more information.

Information from provider

ProviderMarjukka Myllarniemi
Provider affiliationDept of clinical medicine, University of Helsinki
Genetic informationTransgenic mouse. loxP-NEO-stop-loxP-gremlin1 cassette cloned under SPC-promoter. Crossing with a cre recombinase-expressing line drives expression of gremlin in lung type II epithelial cells.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
When crossed with Gt(ROSA)26Sor-creERT2 mice, gremlin expression is detected in lung type II epithelial cells. The mice are viable and show mild septal thickening and possible alveolar space enlargement at 6 months of age. When exposed to silica, significantly less inflammatory cell infiltrates are observed in lung tissue compared to wild type mice. No obvious alterations in histological fibrosis were noted after silica exposure.

Heterozygous:
When crossed with Gt(ROSA)26Sor-creERT2 mice, gremlin expression is detected in lung type II epithelial cells. The mice are viable and show mild septal thickening and possible alveolar space enlargement at 6 months of age. When exposed to silica, significantly less inflammatory cell infiltrates are observed in lung tissue compared to wild type mice. No obvious alterations in histological fibrosis were noted after silica exposure.
