Research Resource Identifiers (RRID) are persistent unique ID numbers assigned to help researchers cite key resources (e.g. antibodies, model organisms and software projects) in the biomedical literature to improve transparency and reproducibility in research. See https://www.rrids.org/ for more information.

Information from provider

ProviderMario Saare
Provider affiliationMolecular Pathology group, Institute of Biomedicine and Translational Medicine, University of Tartu
Genetic informationThe ES cells derived from 129S6/SvEvTac mouse strain were electroporated with a vector containing the neo and TK cassettes for selection, and loxP1 sites that were used to cut out the neo cassette together with exon 9 and partially exon 10. The cloned ES cells were transferred to C57BL/6J blastocysts.
Phenotypic informationSp140 is strongly expressed in B cells. We anticipated the knock-out to have an effect on the levels of different immunoglobulin classes, but the antibody production was unaltered. Also, we tested the avidity of ovalbumin-specific antibodies, but no changes could be determined. B cell population numbers and proportions were normal. The animals are fertile and age normally.
Breeding historyThe strain has not been backcrossed. The mice have been inbred for five generations.

Availabilities

Requesting frozen sperm or embryos is generally advisable wherever possible, in order to minimise the shipment of live mice.

  • Frozen sperm. Delivered in 4 weeks (after paperwork in place). €1740*
  • Rederivation of mice from frozen stock, delivery time available upon request . €3880*

Due to the dynamic nature of our processes strain availability may change at short notice. The local repository manager will advise you in these circumstances.

* In addition users have to cover all the shipping costs (including the cost for returning dry-shippers, where applicable).
