Genetic information | A neomycin resistance gene flanked by loxP sites was originally inserted into intron 3 while a third loxP site was inserted into intron 1. The neomycin resistance gene was then excised by Cre mediated recombination so that exons 2 and 3 are flanked by loxP sites. |
Phenotypic information | Before Cre mediated recombination there is no phenotype associated to this allele. |
Breeding history | Chimeras were crossed with CD1 females for germ line transmission analysis. Heterozygous offspring was crossed with Tg.EIIaCre (FVB/N-TgN(EIIa-Cre)C5379Lmgd) for neomycin resistance gene excision. Offspring was intercrossed to obtain homozygous animals for the Cdk2_lox allele and maintained in homozygosis. |
