INFRAFRONTIER ERIC: A Key Achievement Defining a New Era
On Wednesday, 20 December, we received a fabulous announcement: the European Commission officially declared INFRAFRONTIER’s transformation into an ERIC (European Research Infrastructure Consortium). It was a long time in the making! This achievement signifies an enormous step forward for INFRAFRONTIER, and reinforces our dedication to advancing scientific cooperation and innovation on a broader European scale.
With its headquarters established in Munich, and Founding Members from the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Greece, and Sweden, INFRAFRONTIER ERIC will coordinate the operation of the distributed world-class INFRAFRONTIER RI (Research Infrastructure).
Specialized in the generation, phenotyping, archiving, and distribution of in vivo/in vitro model systems and related data, INFRAFRONTIER ERIC plays a crucial role in facilitating access to services and resources for gene function research in health and disease. This includes the promotion of studies that will lead to breakthrough discoveries in human diseases like cancer or rare diseases.
