Major collections

EMMA comprises over 6000 mutant mouse lines carrying targeted, transgenic, endonuclease-mediated, induced and other types of mutations. Numerous strains have been donated to EMMA by individual researchers. In addition, EMMA has built up major collections from large-scale projects and provides access to practical research tools.

EUCOMM/KOMP-CSD allele conversion service

So far EMMA has archived over 2500 mouse strains generated using the EUCOMM/KOMP targeting strategies. Some mouse strains are only archived as knockout-first allele ('tm1a allele'), but if users are interested in another allele which is not cryopreserved at EMMA, some EMMA nodes offer allele conversion as a service. Please note that this service will take longer than the delivery times for the already cryopreserved alleles and users have to pay an additional fee.

genOway offers industry scientists immediate access to EUCOMM conditional KO mouse models. genOway guarantees freedom to operate (FTO) and offers important time gain in conditional knockout development time for industry scientists.

Strains under development

Newly submitted strains and strains that have been produced only recently are not available for distribution, yet, and thus marked by a red traffic light symbol on the EMMA strain list. However, it is possible to register interest in these strains. Users who registered their interest online will be notified when the strain becomes available and, after confirmation of the request, will be treated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Curated disease models

EMMA has manually curated the nomenclature, description etc. of several archived mouse strains that have been reported to constitute specific disease models. The users can now look for diseases of interest and check if appropriate mouse models, suitable for their research, are available.
