Information from provider

ProviderThorsten Stiewe
Provider affiliationMolecular Oncology Institute, Philipps University Marburg
Genetic informationThe endogenous Trp53 allele carries a point mutation TCC->GCC in the exon 5 resulting in Ser->Ala substitution in the codon 180
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Homozygous S180A mice are tumor resistant but have slightly shortened lifespan. For example, S180A knock-in mice showed markedly reduced spontaneous tumorigenesis and increased resistance to Myc-driven lymphoma and Eml4-Alk-driven lung cancer. Median lifespan was significantly reduced from 709 days in wild type to 568 days in S180A littermates. Lifespan was reduced by a loss of general fitness and increased susceptibility to age-related diseases.

Heterozygous:
Heterozygous mice have normal phenotype
Breeding historyMore than 20 backcrosses on 129S2/SvHsd background
