Research Resource Identifiers (RRID) are persistent unique ID numbers assigned to help researchers cite key resources (e.g. antibodies, model organisms and software projects) in the biomedical literature to improve transparency and reproducibility in research. See https://www.rrids.org/ for more information.

Information from provider

ProviderRolf Sprengel
Provider affiliationMolecular Neurobiology, Max Planck Institute for Medical Research
Genetic informationTetracycline-controlled transgenic overexpression for the SHANK2A(R462X) truncated mutation, that was found in human autism spectrum disorder (ASD) patients. The transgene contains a bidirectional tTA-dependent expression cassette which encodes on one site the nuclear localized beta-galactosidase and on the other side the VENUS-tTA-SHANK2A(R462X) fusion. The sequence origin for SHANK2A(R462X) is human.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Unknown

Heterozygous:
No phenotype in absence of the doxycycline doxycycline sensitive transcriptional activator tTA.
Breeding historyThe line was generated in November 2013. Subsequently the line was intercrossed routinely with TgCam2a-tTA mice (B6;CBA-Tg(Camk2a-tTA)1Mmay/J - JAXMice Stock No: 003010). Double transgenic TgSHANK2A(R462X)/Cam2a-tTA mice were never used for matings. Hemizygous TgSHANK2A(R462X) mice were backcrossed to C57BL/6N mice to keep the line.
