Provider affiliationGMC, IEG
Additional ownerUqox belongs to Dr. Valerie Gailus Durner; AOXrosa26 belongs to Dr. Marten Szibor, Jena University Hospital, Germany; Uqcrh belongs to Helmholtz Zentrum Muenchen - German Research Center for Environmental Health (GmbH), Germany.
Genetic informationUqcrh_EPD0378_3_C07_tm1b-het + Gt(ROSA)26Sor_AOX_KI-het. Uqcrh-mutant mice were generated on a C57BL/6NCrl genetic background and maintained by het x wild-type maiting over >5 generations. Gt(ROSA)26Sor_AOX_KI (a.k.a. AOX-Rosa26-tg; MGI:5824337 allele ID) mice were originally generated and maintained on a C57BL/6J genetic background. Heterozygous animals were outcrossed to C57BL/6NCrl wild-type animals over seven generations, before the parental generation for the production of Uqox animals was generated (see below). Uqox mice were produced by mating in a first step C57BL/6NCrl Gt(ROSA)26Sor_AOX_KI heterozygous mice (AOX het) to C57BL/6NCrl Uqcrh-tm1b (MGI:5692661 allele ID) heterozygous animals (Uqcrh het) to produce double heterozygous animals. For preservation of the line sperm of Uqcrh het/AOX het males was used. In a second step Uqcrh het/AOX het offspring is mated to Uqcrh het/AOX wild-type offspring to produce Uqcrh hom/AOX het animals (so-called Uqox mice).
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Uqcrh_hom: low body weight; small; severe hyperglycemia from 6 weeks of age; reduced livespan (max. 11 weeks).

Heterozygous:
Uqcrh_het: none
Breeding historyGt(ROSA)26Sor_AOX_KI-het x Uqcrh_EPD0378_3_C07_tm1b-het.
