Genetic information | The tTS molecule (a hybrid between the tetracycline repressor, tetR and the KRAB transcriptional repressor) is expressed ubiquitously under the human beta-actin promoter. The construct also contains insulator sequences from the chicken globin locus. This is a transgenic strain to be used in a dual control system to allow repression from promoters carrying tetO (tetracycline operator) sequences. It can be used to produce reversible gene inactivation from tetO-modified loci or to repress the leakiness of tetO promoters when using the tet-ON system. |
Phenotypic information | There are no defects associated to this strain. |
