Research Resource Identifiers (RRID) are persistent unique ID numbers assigned to help researchers cite key resources (e.g. antibodies, model organisms and software projects) in the biomedical literature to improve transparency and reproducibility in research. See https://www.rrids.org/ for more information.

Information from provider

ProviderMike Cheetham
Provider affiliationUCL Insitute of Ophthalmology, UCL
Genetic informationKnock-out of the Dnajb2 (Hsj1) gene. In this mutant exons 2 and 3 are deteted. For its generation, the mouse Dnajb2 floxed strain (EMMA strain ID EM:15270) was crossed with a CMV-cre recombinase deleter strain.
Phenotypic informationHomozygous:
Mild, sub-clinical degeneration of lumbar motor neurons during development detectable by histology and physiological studies, non-progressive but enhanced vulnerability to SOD1-G93A.

Heterozygous:
No obvious phenotype.
Breeding historyThe line was produced in 129Sv ES cells using homologous recombination and insertion of loxP sites and then crossing to a constitutive cre deleter strain to excise DnaJb2 exons 2 and 3. The line has been back-crossed to control C57BL/6J for over 10 generations.
