Information from provider

ProviderKlaus WILLECKE
Provider affiliationMolekulargenetik, Institut fuer Genetik, Universitaet Bonn
Genetic informationInstead of the whole open reading frame of exon 2 of Cx30.2 (Gjd3, formerly Gjc1) a loxP sites-flanked construct is inserted, containing the exon 2 of Cx30.2 and, 3' of the poly(A)-signal), one frt sites-flanked pgk-neomycin selection cassette. After the second loxP site a lacZ reporter gene cassette is inserted. After cre recombinase-mediated deletion of Cx30.2, lacZ is expressed under the control of the endogenous Cx30.2 promoter.
Phenotypic informationNone in the loxP-flanked state. After cre recombinase-mediated deletion homozygous lacZ/lacZ mice are nearly normal.
Breeding historyAfter blastocyst injection the chimeras were bred with C57BL/6NCrl to obtain brown coat colored offspring. This brown offspring was backcrossed to C57BL/6NCrl more than 3 times.
