International strain name | B6;Cg-H2axtm1Nus/Cnrm |
Alternative name | H2afx+/- |
Strain type | Targeted Mutant Strains : Knock-out |
Allele/Transgene symbol | H2axtm1Nus |
Gene/Transgene symbol | H2ax |
Information from provider
Provider | Andre Nussenzweig |
Provider affiliation | Center for Cancer Research, National Cancer Institute |
Genetic information | A genomic clone covering the H2ax locus was isolated from a 129/Sv mouse lambda phage library (Stratagene). The targeting construct was designed as a null mutation that replaces a segment of H2ax between the unique Asc1 and Xho1 site in the coding sequence by a neomycin resistance cassette. |
Phenotypic information | Homozygous:H2ax-/- mice were radiation sensitive, growth retarded, and immune deficient, and mutant males were infertile.Heterozygous:Phenotype of het. mice was similar to wild-type controls. |
