A History of Cryopreservation at MRC Harwell [watch the video!]

“The Legend has retired.” That was the farewell message from researchers at the Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell to our dear colleague and friend Martin Fray. Even though it was his retirement celebration, Martin chose not to focus on himself, but rather on the story behind the cryopreservation service he helped build, and which he now leaves in good hands.

We’re happy to share the interview “A history of cryopreservation at MRC Harwell,” where Martin tells the story of how the mouse archive at MRC began and evolved over time. It’s full of fascinating anecdotes and insights into a service that has become essential to the research community.
