University of Oulu (UOULU) is a non-profit, multidisciplinary university founded in 1958 and is among the largest universities in Finland. UOulu is one of the founding members of INFRAFRONTIER GmbH.

Biocenter Oulu (BCO) is a focus institute within the molecular and environmental basis of life-long health, the strategic focus area of UOULU. BCO supports high-quality research and coordinates multidisciplinary research activities and doctoral training. BCO research infrastructure core facilities are part of the UOULU Infrastructure Unit. They belong to the national Biocenter Finland (BF) research infrastructure network.

BCO transgenic and Tissue Phenotyping (BCO-TTP) core facility offers services related to genetically modified mice such as generation, cryopreservation, recovery and rederivation of mutant lines to both international and national customers. The unit provides services for tissue processing and phenotyping with slide scanning and access to advanced image analysis. BCO-TTP works in close collaboration with the Oulu Laboratory Animal Centre (OULAC). In addition, BCO-TTP coordinates the activities of the national BF FinGMice technological platform.

Since 2010, BCO-TTP has served as the northernmost INFRAFRONTIER/EMMA node. It currently holds more than 360 mouse lines for distribution to scientists worldwide.
