Genetic information | This insert encodes a transgenic form of the F2r (PAR-1) receptor that is phospho-null at the C-terminus. As such the normal signalling that leads to the activated form of the receptor being degraded can not function. Once activated the mutant form of the receptor remains at the membrane and continues to signal. |
Phenotypic information | Homozygous:Due to the early lethality of active PAR-1 when induced by cre recombinase expression, it is impossible to breed mice that are homozygous for the transgene.Heterozygous:When induced developmentally with podocyte-specific NPHS2-cre recombinase, the mice die at around 42 days of age due to renal failure. |
Breeding history | All mice have been generated using 129Sv mice, and there have been no mixing of backgrounds. The mice being supplied are around four generations of backcrossing. |
