Alternative name | HPRT1-Myo7a-EGFP-betaActin-SV40pA-BAC transgene |
Strain type | Targeted Mutant Strains : Other targeted |
Allele/Transgene symbol | Hprttm2Brd, |
Gene/Transgene symbol | Hprt1 |
Information from provider
Provider | Haydn Prosser |
Provider affiliation | Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute |
Genetic information | The transgene contains EGFP-beta-actin-SV40pA in place of the myosin 7a translation initiation codon within the BAC clone RPCI23-138G2. The modified BAC was site specifically integrated at the modified Hprt locus by cre recombinase-mediated cassette exchange (RMCE). |
Phenotypic information | The mouse strain expresses EGFP-beta actin in mouse inner ear hair cells and can be used to fluorescently label stereocilia. In heterozygous females the labelling is mosaic. |
Breeding history | The transgenic was created in AB1 derived 129 ES cells. Chimaeras produced from the ES cells were mated with C3H strain. Strain was then maintained by intercrossing F1 and subsequent generations without further backcrossing. |
