Genetic information	This murine line expresses the tTA transactivator in photoreceptor cells of the retina. This allows inducible gene expression in the retina with the tet-off system.
Phenotypic information	Mice do not show defects. Retina electrophysiology of transgenic mice was tested and found normal.
Breeding history	CD1 transgenic mice were crossed to C57BL/6 mice for 10 generations.
